Welcome!
Our goal is to provide helpful initial and ongoing information to potential and current owners and enthusiasts of the Bichon Frise breed.
About our club
The Bichon Frise Club of Puget Sound was founded in July 1982 and hosted its first national specialty in 1987. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the wellbeing of the Bichon Frise.
Our members include enthusiasts of dog conformation, showing, training of obedience and agility, and those with pet companions. We serve the Washington and Oregon areas.
The club membership is a knowledgeable, supportive, and fun group. our regular meetings are bi-monthly, but there are a number of other events , Specialty dog shows, Fun Matches, Day in the Park and Social activities. People in the club include breeders, non-breeders, and those interested in conformation, dog showing, obedience, agility and just the pet companionship of Bichons.
Club objectives
- Encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Bichon Frise and to do all that is possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
- Urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed approved by The American Kennel Club of America as the only standard of excellence by which the Bichon Frise shall be judged.
- Advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials.
- Conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows under the rules of The American Kennel Club and The Bichon Frise Club of America.
- Serve as an organization to help owners in caring for their Bichons and to serve as a local reference source for the breed.
